Chip
Just got back from sitting in on the Clarion West classroom. The place is not quite as shiny and clean as it was in Week One, and I had to laugh when I saw someone had added a plastic lizard to the basket of scented shells in the soroity house's bathroom. But everyone is still alive and even awake, for the most part.

To me, it was dizzying to be in the same room as Chip Delany. He was one of the first sf writers I ever read (the other being Marion Zimmer Bradley), since when my father went on trips, he usually brought me back a papaerback or two from the airport bookshop and I remember, at the age of 11, being staggered by the concept of simplex/complex/multiplex in THE FALL OF THE TOWERS.

The Fall of the Towers is BY FAR my favorite Delany work and I was blown away by it at much the same age.

*Weep* I had a deprived childhood. No Delany for me!

What week are the Clarion-types on?

This is week 6 -- we're in the home stretch.

Cool!

Sounds like a great experience, a little piece of Clarion after the fact.
