back from Norwescon!
It was a blast, and shouts out to all the swell peeps (look, an easter pun!) I got to hang and talk with, including but not limited to (apologies in advance to anyone I've forgotten in my slaphappy, slee-deprived state) [info]bricoleur, Chrissy and Spencer, [info]eddygrrl, the fabulous Heather Lindsley, [info]lisamantchev, and [info]maryrobinette. Thanks to everyone for coming to the reading, which I thought went really well and was a chance to listen to some great and amazing stuff.  I apologize for pooping out that evening post-dinner, -- it was a long day with about a bajillion more people than I'm used to being around, and I needed a little quiet time.

High points included Heather's reading, L. Timmel DuChamp's reading, a late night exotic mythology panel that seemed more like a hallucinatory mythology, a wealth of amazing costumes (my favorite was the Green Man), the wonders of the dealer's room, the joy of being able to take a hot bath, and late night slumber party chatting.  I got some writing in, and some reading - I'm halfway through one of the PK Dick award nominees, Justina Robson's LIVING NEXT DOOR TO THE GOD OF LOVE, which is freaking amazing, and nothing at all like the book that had been created in my head by reading the backcover copy. Plus I've got a slew of recommended reading to add to the running list.

Heather let me use her laptop to make cool new icons, one of which is attached to this post!

Tonight we're going over to a friend's to do psanky eggs, which is an annual tradition.  I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

Nice icon! I wish I could have been at the con--it sounds like everyone had a great time.

Be sure to post that reading list. I'd love to see what folks from the Emerald City are recommending. And the PKD nominee sounds tantalizing. Who's the publisher?

I tried to go on Saturday to see you and Heather read, but one of my tires exploded on I-5 on the trip to SeaTac. I'm glad to hear it went well.
