Perhaps You Know Better than I...
I have a beloved old Kenneth Cole black leather jacket, which I think I got in 1998 or 1999. Very soft leather, which has torn in a few much-bent places, and there's a place on the back where the goddamned cat took a bite of the leather (which he did very deliberately --opened his mouth wide, looked me in the eye and went CHOMP!). Am I being unrealistic in thinking I can fix it by applying leather patches over the worn or bitten bits? I have similar leather here I could salvage for the task, and I'm reasonably patient and handy. I do like this jacket, which accompanied me through some odd-tasting years, and if I can save it rather than pitch it, it would make me happy.

Leather jackets are very repairable and just get better with age. The repairs become marks of distinction and like memories marked on the flesh. So go for it, or there are dry cleaners and shoe repair places that will fix tears, rips and such in leather.

See you tomorrow? Same bat channel? Same bat time?

Yep, see you at Tully's at 11! I forgot to reserve the table, but there should still be plenty of space.

I suppose a little patch of kitty-cat fur is out of the question?

KIDDING!
Bring it to NY! We'll find someplace to repair it.
