Dragonforge

Just finished Dragonforge by James Maxey, who I know through Codex. It's the sequel to his book Bitterwood, which I enjoyed a lot, and Dragonforge easily lives up to the promise of the first book -- maybe even gets more interesting as we learn that it's not fantasy but S, after all. There's been a lot of interesting dragon books, but Dragonforge is right up there with the best of them, I think. It's the characters more than anything that stand out, but glimmering behind them are a vivid, imaginative world and tons of nifty little ideas and touches. Enjoyable and well worth picking up.
