Things I Tweeted Today

Today I used my bandwidth to say:

  • 11:00 This is the time of year I get a little impatient for spring. My daffodils are up, but no bloom yet, and the lake frogs are sadly silent. #
  • 12:36 Holy cripes for once I'm the first person at the Seattle writing session. Time for donuts! #

Why Today Has Been Good

  • There was sunshine during the first part.
  • I got to the gym in the morning.
  • I wrote the synopses for the two books following Phat Fairy.
  • I made the pretty minor edits Ginger asked for on Phat Fairy and sent that and the synopses to her.
  • I had a salmon piroshky for lunch, yum!
  • I went vintage shopping with the fabulous Ms. Caren and we found splendid things, including cheap champagne glasses, two things I am sticking away for people's Valentines so I can't blog about them, the world's most FABULOUS purse/bag, and the following books: The Harmony Silk Factory by Tash Aw; The Keep by Jennifer Egan; A Cold Dark Place by Gregg Olsen (hi Nona!); Children of God by Maria Doria Russell;  and Eyes of Prey by John Sanford.

The Obligatory Shuffle

I have been informed that I should shill a bit in regards to a couple of stories and rapidly approaching award deadlines. Heh,

The Mermaids Singing Each to Each has five Nebula nominations (yay!), so if you're a SFWA member still making short story recommendations, I hope you'll check it out. If you'd rather get it in audio form, it's here.

Narrative of a Beast's Life made it onto the Locus Recommended Reading List, and if you are a Locus subscriber who hasn't voted for that yet and feel like checking it out, you can listen to it in audio form or drop me a line and I'll gladly mail you a copy.
